On the west end of the square is the neoclassical Royal Palace, which served as the city hall from 1655 until its conversion to a royal residence in 1808. Beside it are the 15th-century Gothic Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) and the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.
The National Monument, a white stone pillar designed by J.J.P. Oud and erected in 1956 to memorialize the victims of World War II, dominates the opposite side of the square. In the cascade with flowing water, they enjoy lovely bird baths.

During the 19th century, Varberg became a health resort. The tradition dates back to 1811, when Svartekällan by Apelviken south of the city, was first advertised as a well. A well house was built over the spring in 1817, but from 1837 it was found more practical to transport the water to Varberg, where it was served in the well salon in Brunnsparken opposite the church.
The park was fenced with a rice paddock, where parties, concerts and so on were held for the bathing society. Today, Brunnsparken in Varberg is a lively place in the heart of central Varberg. It houses restaurants and bars as well as shops as well as the magnificent church built 1769-1772.

Sokolka is situated in the eastern part of Podlasie Vojevodship, on the edge of Knyszyn Primeval Forest, by the international road and railway route Warsaw-Bialystok-Grodno and running farther towards Minsk, Vilnius, Riga, St. Petersburg and Moscow. The municipality borders on Belarus and is situated on the territory of a future European Union’s east boundary. Sokolka municipality covers the area of 314 km2. Born in 1989, Berlin is queen of her domain! Whether she's napping in her sandy pit or swimming laps in her cooled pool, Berlin chooses what she wants to do and when.
Nuniq - pronounced "new-nick" - was born at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in 2016 and arrived in Kansas City in 2020. You will frequently see him splashing around in the pool and tearing up some of his favorite toys.
Polar Bear Passage Facts:
• A 140,000 gallon pool chilled to 65 degrees for swimming and diving.
• A giant sand pit for digging (or napping) and a grassy yard for rolling around and playing with enrichment items.
• Air-conditioned bedrooms and den behind the scenes, complete with private swimming pool.
Keeping Busy:
Zookeepers plan daily activities for our bears. They use varied foods, smells, toys and sounds to change what they experience everyday. You may see our bears playing with balls, barrels, logs, or straw – they have a lot of options! You may also notice that Berlin sometimes paces, which is a habit she developed as a younger bear. The amount of time she paces changes from season to season, probably due to weather changes, hormones and natural instincts.
The Menu:
Berlin and Nuniq have a wide choice of food items. Herring, capelin, trout, polar bear kibble, lard and a selection of fruits and vegetables are all on the menu. Seasonally, polar bear weights fluctuate widely just as they would in the Arctic. In summer months, polar bears weigh much less because they are unable to hunt seals on the ice. In the winter, when hunting is possible, polar bears pack on the pounds.

Erasmus Bridge is a combined cable stayed and bascule bridge, construction began in 1986 and was completed in 1996. It crosses the nieuwe maas in the centre of Rotterdam, connecting the north and south parts of this city, the second largest city in the Netherlands. The Longhu Tower (Dragon Tiger Tower) is the most famous scenic spot in Lianchihtan. Constructed in 1976, the tower is seven stories tall, and the dragon and tiger doors are its entrance and exit. Its walls are decorated with koji pottery, which represent proselytizing stories, from a variety of artists.

Located on the west side of Kasutsu Onsen, this is a park where an Onsen river flows. 1400 liters of hot spring water comes out from more than 20 hot spring sources.Visitors can enjoy the view throughout the four seasons, such as the fresh green, autumn leaves and snow view, while enjoying the Sai-no-Kawahara open-air bath and foot bath. This open-air bath is one of the hottest in Kusatsu Onsen.
It is said it is very good for sterilization and anti-inflammation. Opening hours from April to November are from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and from December to March it is open from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Entry fee for adults is 600 yen and 300 yen for children.
Furthermore, there are lots of sightseeing spots such as Kusatsu Anamori Inari Shrine within the park.

Holmestrand is a town in Vestfold, Norway. It is located southwest of Oslo, approximately 1 hour away. Holmestrand in Norwegian literally means small island by the beach. Holmestrand is a nice town with a charming harbour. It's nice to stroll along the harbour or if you prefer woods and hills, it's possible to go for long walks through the countryside. In the winter, good skiing is available.
Holmestrand Brygge will be a newly built quarter with about 80 apartments, over 1000 m2 of commercial premises, and a new green lung in the city. The start of construction was in March 2019 and the project will be completed during the first quarter of 2021.
Asplan Viak's architects have been selected as partners in the development of the project. Their proposals for solutions are very good with a view to further urban development and making the center of Holmestrand attractive as a place to live, shop and work in.

Owl Forest School is located in Hutoushan Park which is known as the back garden of Taoyuan. In 2012, under the premise of minimal destruction to the trees and original landscape, wooden skywalks and three tree houses were built as the Owl Forest School.
The robustly alive tree houses in the midst of vigorous aerial roots of ficus trees are filled with owl adornments.
The school comprises a hexagon Tree Classroom where visitors can closely observe the forest ecosystem. There is also an owl-shaped Whoo Whoo House where you can learn all about birds. A Red-tailed Hawk pair has been nesting above Cornell University’s athletic fields since at least the 2012, making use of two different light towers for their nest sites. In 2012 and 2015, they used a tower near Fernow Hall, and in 2013, 2014, and 2016, they used the tower nearest Weill Hall. We installed cameras at both of these sites to get a better look at the intimate behavior of these well-known birds as they raise their young amid the bustle of a busy campus.
Red-tailed hawks are monogamous and may mate for life. They make stick nests high above the ground, in which the female lays one to five eggs each year. Both sexes incubate the eggs for four to five weeks, and feed the young from the time they hatch until they leave the nest about six weeks later.
Red-tailed Hawks, especially in the West, have highly variable plumage, including dark and rufous phases. They have long, broad wings and short, wide tails. Most have light breasts and dark streaks forming a mottled 'belly-band.' Most have dark brown heads. The underwings are mottled dark and light. All plumages of Red-tailed Hawks have a darkish band on the leading edges of the inner underwings, known as the 'patagial' markings. The upper side of the tail of most adult birds is deep rufous, although the Harlan's Red-tailed Hawk, a subspecies occasionally seen in Washington, has a light gray or banded tail. Light birds often have a faint white 'V' on their back-feathers that can be seen when they are perched. Juveniles lack the red tail.

The town has always been a traditional fishing settlement, today it has around 800 inhabitants, with the most common businesses being fishing and tourism. Mehamn is the northernmost port of Hurtigruten as well as the administrative center of Gamvik municipality.
Mehamn hosts several festivals (such as Nordkynfestivalen) and cultural events each year. The settlement also has a vibrant nightlife, including a night club at the Arctic Hotel, with frequent live music performances.

Zandvoort is both a municipality and a town located in the province of North Holland. It is considered one of the biggest beach resorts in the country. This live webcam overlooks a stretch of the Chūō Expressway near Moto-Hachiōjimachi, one of the key highway corridors linking Tokyo with the mountains of central Japan. From this view you can watch the steady flow of cars and trucks as they wind through the outskirts of Hachiōji, framed by greenery, overpasses, and the gently rising terrain that leads toward the Japanese Alps.
Traffic heading toward the top of the screen is bound for Yamanashi Prefecture, eventually reaching areas like Kōfu, Lake Kawaguchi, and the Mt. Fuji region. The city of Kristiansund is situated on four different islands. But don’t worry – in minutes, the tiny ferry Sundbåten will take you between Kirkelandet, Innlandet, Nordlandet and Gomalandet. Ask the skipper to let you off at the Milnbrygga wharf, where you can visit the Norwegian Clipfish Museum. Kristiansund was partly built on fishing, and especially the clipfish – split and salted cod that were traditionally dried on the cliffs along the sea.
Clipfish and bacalao are still staple foods in the region. Get a taste of some of the freshest seafood at Smia Fiskerestaurant. Located in a house from 1787, it is one of the most unique eateries in town. Speaking of food from the region – you need to try the award-winning cheeses from Tingvollost, especially “Kraftkar”, which has been named the world’s best cheese!
Join the annual food festival Snadderfestivalen in June to really dig into the local food, drink the local craft beers, and taste the local aquavit, which is made on potatoes and seaweed.
Did you know that Kristiansund is home to the country’s oldest opera? With more than 100 performances a year, you can always catch a show. Every year in February, they arrange the popular festival Operafestukene, where you get served opera for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 17 days.
You should also join the Nordic Light Festival of Photography, where famous international and Norwegian photographers exhibit their pictures all over town, give lectures, and drink with the locals all through the night.

You’ll find our camping a few kilometres south of Varberg, in the picturesque little fishing village that is colloquially called Läjet. We have 19 cottages and almost 770 camping pitches, of which 280 have got water and drainage. We also have two restaurants, which offer entertainment during peak season. We have the ”Kotte club” for the younger guests and quite a lot of treats for the four-footed friends. Dogs even have a menu of their own in the restaurant!

Most White Storks are monogamous and pair for life. Female storks lay 2 – 5 chalky-white eggs which are laid at two day intervals. Eggs hatch after 33 – 34 days of incubation. The incubation period is shared between both parents. After hatching, both parents take turns to feed the chicks. Food is placed on the edge of the nest by the parents but water is provided by regurgitation.
When newly hatched, young white storks have pinkish legs and a small black beak with a brown tip. young storks have two successive coats of down. Its body is firstly partly covered with short, sparse downy feathers which are whitish in colour which are replaced after around a week with a fluffy white down. Flight feathers appear after 3 weeks along with black scapulars (shoulder feathers).
