The town houses and the public buildings of the shoreline bays built after the fire in Kivi-Pori in 1852, form one of the most representative old stone towns in Finland.
Southranta has many sights such as the Central Pori church, Neo-Ottoman style, the Pori Art Museum and the Town Hall, known for its bell tower. Southranta has an important role as an event area in addition to the landscapes, for example, the South Stream is transformed for example during July for during the Pori Jazz Festival.

The station can be overwhelming for first-time visitors, but its numerous signs and helpful staff make navigating it easier.
Shinjuku Station also offers a wide range of shopping and dining options, from small kiosks and convenience stores to larger department stores and restaurants. For those interested in exploring the area around the station, there are several notable landmarks nearby, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, and the Kabukicho entertainment district.

These magnificent mountains tower over a valley bisected by the Snake River. This beautiful valley, overlooked on the western edge by an impressive skyline, is known as Jackson Hole. The Teton Range dominates the landscape of the park.
The range began rising about 10 million years ago. Numerous earthquakes, up to a magnitude 7.5, released tension along the Teton fault building the mountains one step at a time. Each large earthquake breaks the ground by about ten feet dropping the valley floor three to four times as much as the mountains rise. The Grand Teton at 13,770 feet, towers about 7,000 feet above the valley floor suggesting the offset across the fault is up to 30,000 feet. The lack of foothills is due to the presence of the Teton fault.
Erosion fills the valley and carves the range crest forming the jagged Teton skyline. The rugged terrain and lack of foothills allures outdoor enthusiasts of all types to visit this area. Climbers summit at least 12 peaks in the Teton Range over 12,000 feet high with varying degrees of difficulty.
Mount Fuji (富士山, Fujisan) is with 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It is not surprising that the nearly perfectly shaped volcano has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experienced big popularity among artists and common people throughout the centuries.
Mount Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1707. It stands on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama on clear days.
Another easy way to view Mount Fuji is from the train on a trip between Tokyo and Osaka. If you take the shinkansen from Tokyo in direction of Nagoya, Kyoto and Osaka, the best view of the mountain can be enjoyed from around Shin-Fuji Station on the right hand side of the train, about 40-45 minutes into the journey.
Note however, that clouds and poor visibility often block the view of Mount Fuji, and you have to consider yourself lucky if you get a clear view of the mountain. Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons of the year than in summer, and in the early morning and late evening hours than during the middle of the day.
If you want to enjoy Mount Fuji at a more leisurely pace and from a nice natural surrounding, you should head to the Fuji Five Lake (Fujigoko) region at the northern foot of the mountain, or to Hakone, a nearby hot spring resort. Mount Fuji is officially open for climbing during July and August via several routes.

Kristiansund was partly built on fishing, and especially the clipfish – split and salted cod that were traditionally dried on the cliffs along the sea.
Clipfish and bacalao are still staple foods in the region. Get a taste of some of the freshest seafood at Smia Fiskerestaurant. Located in a house from 1787, it is one of the most unique eateries in town. Speaking of food from the region – you need to try the award-winning cheeses from Tingvollost, especially “Kraftkar”, which has been named the world’s best cheese!
Join the annual food festival Snadderfestivalen in June to really dig into the local food, drink the local craft beers, and taste the local aquavit, which is made on potatoes and seaweed.
Did you know that Kristiansund is home to the country’s oldest opera? With more than 100 performances a year, you can always catch a show. Every year in February, they arrange the popular festival Operafestukene, where you get served opera for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 17 days.
You should also join the Nordic Light Festival of Photography, where famous international and Norwegian photographers exhibit their pictures all over town, give lectures, and drink with the locals all through the night.

The International Space Station is a space station, or a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit. Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, the last pressurised module was fitted in 2011, and the station is expected to be used until 2028.
Development and assembly of the station continues, with components scheduled for launch in 2018 and 2019. The ISS is the largest human-made body in low Earth orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. The ISS consists of pressurised modules, external trusses, solar arrays, and other components. ISS components have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets, and American Space Shuttles.
The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which crew members conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is suited for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars.
The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435 km (205 and 270 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54 orbits per day.
The ISS programme is a joint project among five participating space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, ESA, and CSA.

This webcam shows the stunning view of Tokyo’s waterfront around Shiodome and Hamamatsuchō, looking out toward Tokyo Bay. The curved elevated expressway in the foreground is part of the Shuto Expressway, looping gracefully above the water. This circular ramp is a recognizable feature near the Shiodome area, leading traffic on and off the Rainbow Bridge and inner-city expressway network.
At night, the skyline glows with modern high-rises and office towers, giving a classic Tokyo nightscape. The tall structure with the blue light at its tip is Tokyo Tower, a famous landmark visible from many points across the city. Yyteri is a popular beach resort in Pori in the Meri-Pori area. The unique dune area and a three-kilometer long sandy beach attract tourists and townspeople to the beach through the summer.
The popular beach is Yyter's largest active sandwiched area. In Yyter there is a wide range of activities, including golf, horseback riding, beach volleyball and surfing. Dogs also have their own beach.

During the day you are going to see Eastern Gray Squirrels, American Red Squirrels, Eastern Chipmunks, and lots of birds that enjoy feeding on the ground, such as Northern Cardinals, Blue Jays, American Crows, House Sparrows, and Mourning Doves.

A hot spring where 4,040 liters of source springs out at the center of the hot spring town. It is a masterpiece that its source flows down a tundish and falls to Yu Taki.

The mainland portion of the airport opened as a military aerodrome in 1923, and commenced civilian joint use as Omura Airport (大村空港) in 1955.
The current island runway and terminal opened on May 1, 1975. Although Nagasaki is superficially similar to Japan's other island airports, Kansai International Airport, Kobe Airport, Kitakyushu Airport, and Chūbu Centrair International Airport, Nagasaki's island existed (in a radically different shape) before the airport was constructed. Constructing the airport required flattening the island's hills and forming landfill around its shore, expanding it from 0.9 to 1.54 km2 (0.35 to 0.59 sq mi).

The webcam is located at the former Chicago & North Western powerhouse, now managed by Structured Development. This historic building, constructed between 1909 and 1911 in the Beaux-Arts style, originally housed the equipment that generated electricity for the Chicago & North Western Railroad’s terminal.
Today, the building has been repurposed by Structured Development into three floors of office and retail spaces. The Powerhouse is recognized as a City of Chicago Landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. To learn more about this location, click here.

Born in 1989, Berlin is queen of her domain! Whether she's napping in her sandy pit or swimming laps in her cooled pool, Berlin chooses what she wants to do and when.
Nuniq - pronounced "new-nick" - was born at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in 2016 and arrived in Kansas City in 2020. You will frequently see him splashing around in the pool and tearing up some of his favorite toys.
Polar Bear Passage Facts:
• A 140,000 gallon pool chilled to 65 degrees for swimming and diving.
• A giant sand pit for digging (or napping) and a grassy yard for rolling around and playing with enrichment items.
• Air-conditioned bedrooms and den behind the scenes, complete with private swimming pool.
Keeping Busy:
Zookeepers plan daily activities for our bears. They use varied foods, smells, toys and sounds to change what they experience everyday. You may see our bears playing with balls, barrels, logs, or straw – they have a lot of options! You may also notice that Berlin sometimes paces, which is a habit she developed as a younger bear. The amount of time she paces changes from season to season, probably due to weather changes, hormones and natural instincts.
The Menu:
Berlin and Nuniq have a wide choice of food items. Herring, capelin, trout, polar bear kibble, lard and a selection of fruits and vegetables are all on the menu. Seasonally, polar bear weights fluctuate widely just as they would in the Arctic. In summer months, polar bears weigh much less because they are unable to hunt seals on the ice. In the winter, when hunting is possible, polar bears pack on the pounds.

The city of Kristiansund is situated on four different islands. But don’t worry – in minutes, the tiny ferry Sundbåten will take you between Kirkelandet, Innlandet, Nordlandet and Gomalandet. Ask the skipper to let you off at the Milnbrygga wharf, where you can visit the Norwegian Clipfish Museum. Kristiansund was partly built on fishing, and especially the clipfish – split and salted cod that were traditionally dried on the cliffs along the sea.
Clipfish and bacalao are still staple foods in the region. Get a taste of some of the freshest seafood at Smia Fiskerestaurant. Located in a house from 1787, it is one of the most unique eateries in town. Speaking of food from the region – you need to try the award-winning cheeses from Tingvollost, especially “Kraftkar”, which has been named the world’s best cheese!
Join the annual food festival Snadderfestivalen in June to really dig into the local food, drink the local craft beers, and taste the local aquavit, which is made on potatoes and seaweed.
Did you know that Kristiansund is home to the country’s oldest opera? With more than 100 performances a year, you can always catch a show. Every year in February, they arrange the popular festival Operafestukene, where you get served opera for breakfast, lunch and dinner for 17 days.
You should also join the Nordic Light Festival of Photography, where famous international and Norwegian photographers exhibit their pictures all over town, give lectures, and drink with the locals all through the night.

There is a huge variety of wildlife and plant life and it's a brilliant place to explore!

In the center stands the grand St. Peter’s Basilica, one of the largest and most important churches in the world. Its iconic dome dominates the skyline and is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture designed by Michelangelo, among others. Visitors from around the world come to admire its intricate facade, massive columns, and the spiritual heart it represents for Catholics everywhere.
In the foreground of the square, you’ll notice the ancient Egyptian obelisk, which dates back over 2,000 years and was brought to Rome in ancient times before being placed here in the 16th century. On either side, the grand colonnades designed by Gian Lorenzo Bernini embrace the square in a symbolic gesture of welcome. You can observe most of the European wintering birds here, including Blue Tit, Bullfinch, Blackbird, Great Tit, Nuthatch, European Crested Tit, Marsh Tit, Eurasian Jay, Great Spotted Woodpecker, European Robin, Eurasian Siskin, Long-Tailed Tit, Hawfinch, Coal Tit, Jer, Common Chaffinch, Black Cap, Song Thrush, Common Starling, Hooded Crow, Dunnock, Garden Warbler, Common Pheasant, Wood Pigeon. The green roof has become a sanctuary for local wildlife while helping to reduce energy consumption throughout the convention center on Manhattan’s West Side. It erupts every 90 minutes on average, shooting boiling water up to 180 feet into the air. Each eruption lasts 1.5 to 5 minutes and is an incredible sight of nature’s power. Spinner the Sea Camera sits at the bottom of the city’s landmark fishing pier, which stretches out over the ocean at nearly 1000 feet from the shoreline. Spinner’s home is located in 30-feet of water, on the pilings of the pier. Our crowning jewel is packed daily with fishermen anxious to take a bow to a tarpon or pick a fight with a feisty Barracuda.
Be prepared when you tune in to catch a glimpse of everything from a parrotfish posing for Spinner the Sea Cam, to sharks or even playful sea turtles. Just a five-minute walk down the Damrak from Centraal Station takes you into this jam-packed square, jostling with locals and tourists day and night. Whatever the weather, there is always something going on!
On the west end of the square is the neoclassical Royal Palace, which served as the city hall from 1655 until its conversion to a royal residence in 1808. Beside it are the 15th-century Gothic Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) and the Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum.
The National Monument, a white stone pillar designed by J.J.P. Oud and erected in 1956 to memorialize the victims of World War II, dominates the opposite side of the square. Also overlooking the plaza are the NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky and the upscale department store De Bijenkorf. These various attractions have turned the Dam into a tourist zone.

It is known as "island volcanoes" because much of its surface is covered with remains of eruptions that took place during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
Lanzarote is an ideal island to enjoy all year round due to its subtropical climate and its lack of rainfall, being practically zero between May and October. The temperatures do not suffer large oscillations nor during the day nor during the year, rarely exceed 29 degrees in summer, or fall below 14 degrees in winter. Myeongdong Cathedral was the first and most important Catholic church in Korea and is an important symbol of Christianity in the country. The church is an important icon of Korea and Myeongdong. The elegant cathedral was the first Gothic style church in Korea to be constructed of brick. The roof of the church is 23 meters (75 feet) tall while the bell tower is 45 meters (147 feet) tall. The floor plan of the church was designed around a Latin cross.
The construction of the cathedral started in 1892 and was completed in 1898. Unlike most Gothic buildings, Myeongdong Cathedral was built with bricks instead of stones. It gives the cathedral a characteristic atmosphere. The splendid high ceilings inside the church and the arches in between the magnificent inner pillars show the beautiful Gothic style well. The basement is contains the remains of nine saints and martyrs, who devoted their lives to the propagation of Catholicism in Korea. Behind the cathedral, Seongmo Dongsan (St. Mary's garden) is situated. During lunch hour, pipe organs are playing here. The garden offers a peaceful resting space after visiting the cathedral.

Shanyuan Bay is the longest sandy beach on the east coast of Taiwan. It is significant in terms of cultural and historic importance. It is the indigenous land for three Amis tribes, Jialulan, Citong, and Dulan. In the Amis language, the beach is called "Fudafudak," which means sparkling.
Indigenous activities such as gathering food and festivals take place here. Shanyuan Bay is a key part of Dulan and only 12 kilometers away from downtown Taitung. The short 15 minute drive makes Shanyuan Bay easily accessible. On the way to the beach, visitors pass by Xiaoyeliu. The ISS passes into the dark side of the earth for roughly half of each of its 90 minute orbits - As the Space Station passes into a period of night every 45 mins, during this time pre-recorded footage is shown until daylight recommences.
The International Space Station is a space station, or a habitable artificial satellite, in low Earth orbit. Its first component launched into orbit in 1998, the last pressurised module was fitted in 2011, and the station is expected to be used until 2028.
Development and assembly of the station continues, with components scheduled for launch in 2018 and 2019. The ISS is the largest human-made body in low Earth orbit and can often be seen with the naked eye from Earth. The ISS consists of pressurised modules, external trusses, solar arrays, and other components. ISS components have been launched by Russian Proton and Soyuz rockets, and American Space Shuttles.
The ISS serves as a microgravity and space environment research laboratory in which crew members conduct experiments in biology, human biology, physics, astronomy, meteorology, and other fields. The station is suited for the testing of spacecraft systems and equipment required for missions to the Moon and Mars. The station is crewed by NASA astronauts as well as Russian Cosmonauts and a mixture of Japanese, Canadian and European astronauts as well.
The ISS maintains an orbit with an altitude of between 330 and 435 km (205 and 270 mi) by means of reboost manoeuvres using the engines of the Zvezda module or visiting spacecraft. It completes 15.54 orbits per day.
The ISS programme is a joint project among five participating space agencies: NASA, Roscosmos, JAXA, ESA, and CSA.

Damrak, the red carpet of Amsterdam. The street that is first to be seen at the exit of Amsterdam Central Station. Here you will find large shops, hotels and restaurants. In addition, the Damrak is connected to the parallel busy shopping street the Nieuwendijk. The Damrak runs between Amsterdam Centraal in the north and Dam Square in the south.
The Damrak is the oldest part of Amsterdam. The city at the mouth of the Amstel came into existence here, almost a thousand years ago. The Damrak is still the main gateway for millions of visitors and residents of the city. An upgrade of this area and thus the entrance of the city was one of the most important reasons to start the Red Carpet project in the Centrum district.
Today there are nearly two dozen buildings designated as monuments. There’s the old stock exchange, which nowadays hosts a wide variety of cultural events. Closer to Dam square is the huge, prestigious Bijenkorf warehouse attracts bustling crowds of locals and visitors alike.
